TEDxRockhampton goes digital

Rockhampton, 12th February 2013 –

With just over 100 days to go until the inaugural TEDxRockhampton event on May 25, an exciting new website has been launched to keep the Central Queensland community updated with all the latest news.

Easily accessible at www.TEDxRockhampton.com, the official event website will allow the community to nominate a speaker, register their interest in attending, learn more about the team behind the event, and see the progress organisers are making. After the dust settles on TEDxRockhampton, it will also host photos and videos from the day.

Local graphic design firm Almost Anything Web and Graphic Design donated the website as a part of their commitment to moving the Central Queensland community forward.

Owner Jason Foss says he really believes in the TEDx cause of ideas worth spreading.

“The Internet is one of the best ways to make information accessible today, and now anyone who wants to stay updated with TEDxRockhampton is easily able to do so.”

TEDxRockhampton Curator Treassa Joseph is thrilled with the new website, and she hopes that more locals will sign on to register their interest in attending and to nominate speakers.

“This event should be a community effort, and we want to hear what our attendees are interested in listening to. The ‘Nominations’ page on our website is very simple to use, and the only prerequisite for a speaker is that they have an idea worth spreading.”

“We’re also looking forward to seeing people register their interest in attendance. The website form is easy to fill out…so start thinking now about why you want to attend TEDxRockhampton!”

An official venue announcement is expected in the coming weeks – keep checking back to stay updated.

Interested attendees can also connect through the event’s social media channels, which can be found at www.facebook.com/TEDxRockhampton and www.twitter.com/TEDxRockhampton.
